American Language Writing Class Agreement
I will do my own work.
· This means that I will not copy writing from
another source. I will not use work that either I or someone I know has
previously submitted. I will not pay anyone to do my work for me. I will not
have a family member or friend (or paid
service!) do my work for me. Engaging in this behavior is academic
dishonesty. This behavior does not allow me to learn or grow as a writer, as a
student, or as a person.
· I acknowledge that I will complete my writing in
the allotted time during weeks 1, 2 and 6.
· I acknowledge that I will complete all of my
assignments on my own (except for team work).
I will ask questions if I have any because I
know that asking questions is how everyone learns.
I will follow the schedule and submit my work on
time because I know that the schedule has been set up to allow me to build my
skills as I go forward. If I have an issue, I will contact my teacher or my
team to seek help right away.
I will use the appropriate college resources to
help me achieve my goals.
I will try my best on all of my work.
I will use a growth mindset for this
class.
· This means that I will make mistakes but I will
try to learn from them. I may fail some assignments, but I will become a stronger
writer because of this. It means that I know that I am not perfect, but I will
get better with effort. It means that I will try my best, and sometimes I will
be frustrated. But in the end, I will learn more than I ever thought I could.
